How to book your Medicaid ride

Medicaid trips are booked through Medical Answering Services (MAS) — not directly through Classic Ryde. When calling MAS, request Classic Car Service (also known as Classic Ryde) as your preferred provider.

Provide Your Appointment Details

Give MAS your pickup address, destination, appointment date and time, and any special mobility needs (wheelchair, ambulatory assist, etc.).

Receive Your Confirmation

You’ll receive a text confirmation from Classic Ryde with your trip details and driver information for the day of your ride.

Your Driver Arrives

A TLC-licensed Classic Ryde driver picks you up on time, takes you door-to-door to your medical facility, and can arrange your return trip.

What patients and families ask us

How far in advance do I need to schedule?

We recommend booking through MAS at least 3 days before your appointment to guarantee availability. For recurring appointments (dialysis, PT, etc.), ask MAS to set up a standing schedule so you don’t have to call every week.

Do you provide wheelchair-accessible vehicles?

Yes. We have a dedicated WAV fleet with certified tie-down and securement equipment. All WAV drivers are trained in proper passenger assistance procedures. Please specify when booking through MAS.

Can a family member or attendant ride with the patient?

In most cases, yes. Medicaid allows a companion or attendant to accompany the patient at no additional charge. Please let MAS know when booking so the appropriate vehicle capacity is arranged.

What if my appointment runs late?

Our dispatch team monitors scheduled return trips. If you’re running late, call us and we’ll adjust your return pickup at no penalty. We understand medical appointments don’t always run on time.

Is Classic Ryde licensed for Medicaid transportation?

Yes. Classic Ryde is a fully licensed TLC livery base authorized to provide Medicaid NEMT in New York City. All drivers are TLC-licensed and vehicles meet NYC Medicaid transportation requirements.

Do you serve patients outside of Queens?

Absolutely. We serve all five boroughs and can transport patients to medical facilities anywhere in the NYC metro area, including New Jersey and Long Island when medically necessary.
