About Classic Ryde
Classic Ryde started as a single car service in Queens in the mid-1990s. Today we’re a full-service TLC livery network — medical transport, airport rides, government contracts, and everything in between — built on three decades of showing up on time.
Classic Ryde grew out of the neighborhoods we serve. What started as a small livery base in Queens has grown into one of New York City’s most trusted transportation networks — with drivers who know these streets because they live on them.
For over 30 years we’ve served the communities that need reliable transportation most: patients who can’t miss a dialysis appointment, seniors who need a WAV-equipped vehicle, students with special needs getting to school safely, families headed to JFK at 4am. We’ve been there for all of it.
We’re not a tech company that decided to get into transportation. We’re a transportation company — full stop. Every decision we make is about the passenger in the back seat and the driver behind the wheel, not a growth metric on a spreadsheet.
Our dispatch team picks up the phone because we know that when someone calls us at 6am to get to their chemo appointment, they don’t have time for a chatbot. That’s been our standard since day one, and it’s not changing.
Full-service TLC livery transportation: Non-emergency medical (NEMT), Medicaid, NHTD waiver, Access-A-Ride, NYC DOE school transportation, airport rides to/from all major NYC airports, corporate accounts, and private rides across all five boroughs.
Classic Ryde starts as a local car service dispatching rides in the Jackson Heights and Sunnyside area.
We expand into non-emergency medical transportation, partnering with NYC-area hospitals and clinics.
Wheelchair-accessible vehicles added to serve mobility-impaired passengers and Access-A-Ride contracts.
Classic Ryde begins transporting NYC Department of Education students, including special needs routes.
Full-service network operating 24/7 across all five NYC boroughs with live human dispatch.
Our 24/7 dispatch team is staffed by real people who know these routes, these patients, and these neighborhoods. No IVR, no bots, no hold music when it matters most.
Flat rates on medical trips. No surge pricing. No mystery fees. Whether you’re a passenger calling for a ride or a driver accepting a trip — you know the number before you commit.
We’ve built long-term relationships with our drivers. Fair fee structures, consistent volume, and a dispatch team that advocates for the people doing the actual work.
Our WAV fleet isn’t a side offering — it’s core to who we are. Every WAV driver is trained and certified. Every vehicle is properly equipped. Every passenger gets the same quality of ride.
We understand that a missed medical appointment isn’t an inconvenience — it’s a health outcome. Our medical dispatch team treats every trip with that level of importance.
We’re not a Silicon Valley company that mapped NYC streets last year. We’ve been navigating them for three decades. Our drivers live in the boroughs they serve.
Classic Ryde isn’t a company that came to Queens from somewhere else. We’re part of the fabric of these neighborhoods. Our drivers are neighbors. Our passengers are neighbors. That’s not marketing language — it’s just how it’s always been.
The communities we serve — Jackson Heights, Sunnyside, the South Bronx, Crown Heights, Jamaica — are communities that depend on reliable transportation. A missed dialysis session. A student who doesn’t make it to school. A senior who can’t get to a follow-up. We take those consequences seriously.
Our team speaks English and Spanish. We serve one of the most linguistically diverse cities in the world and we staff accordingly.
The majority of our drivers live in the boroughs they serve. Local knowledge, local reliability.
We work directly with hospitals, clinics, and social workers to coordinate transportation for vulnerable patients.
Whether you need a medical ride, an airport transfer, or you’re a TLC driver looking for consistent work — we’re one call away.
